Weaknecht Invites Residents to a Free Shredding Event

March 25, 2026

BERN TOWNSHIP – State Rep. Eric Weaknecht (R-Berks) is teaming up with Tompkins to host a free shedding event for district residents to help prevent identity theft. The event will be held at Conrad Weiser Middle School, 347 E. Penn Ave., Robesonia, on Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to noon.

“Identity theft is an unfortunate reality in today’s world, but there are simple steps people can take to protect themselves,” Weaknecht said. “This free shredding event gives residents a safe and convenient way to dispose of sensitive documents and help keep their personal information out of the wrong hands.”

Attendees are encouraged to have unneeded documents with important information, such as bank and credit card account information or Social Security numbers, shredded. Shredding documents is an easy way to curb identity theft.

There is a limit of four boxes of paper per household. No businesses, please.
